On day 7 we took a taxi where Sissel was picked up on the previous day after a hard day. We walked the last 10 kilometers to Tomar and spent a nice day in the city.

We knew that next morning she was going to go her own way and I'd head to Porto to start from there again. We'd been having so much fun and I had been so grateful having her with me here that we were sad that we had to take different routes. We sat on the balcony of the hostel and I played guitar and sang some songs. Most of the songs were some how melancholic and talking about roads we have to walk.
She's been the perfect guide for me and I miss her already. A lot.

One of the reasons I decided to go to Porto was so she could catch up with me later on. If nothing happens I'll wait for her somewhere on the coastal route or she'll catch up with me. So it was way better than any other option we had.
My body couldn't take the 30km days without proper rest day after and I didn't want to go through what happened after the first day again. After Porto the route has better infrastructure and the days can be planned for shorter distances. Before Porto you have to be very careful in planning and even with good planning you have to make 30kms a day in between the albergues.
For a first timer who is not used to walking it's too much. It's sometimes too much even for people who walk a lot.
Another reason why I got to this decision is that I have been doing my yoga almost daily and I really miss going to a shala. So when I found a shala in Porto and realized that I could drop in twice for mysore if I took the train on Tuesday morning my decision was done.

At the hostel I met an older gentleman from Germany who decided to go to Porto with me. So now we shared the train ride to Porto and stayed in the same hostel for the night.
